That is a fair question. Before the invasion I was perhaps 7 out of 10 pro-Russia. A check of my old posts would verify that. The West was doing things that certainly were provocative from the Russian point of view.

But any response to a provocation should be in proportion to the provocation. Putin wildly overreacted here. Thousands of innocents are dying. And now Europe is flirting with WW III.

In a way, it’s like 1914. A Serbian nationalist group provoked Austria-Hungary by assassinating an Austro-Hungarian archduke. Then Austria-Hungary wildly overreacted. Next thing you know, it’s a world war.
