Maybe Doomsday preppers aren’t so crazy after all.
As nuclear threats loom from countries like Iran and North Korea, the US is knocking the dust off decades-old bunkers intended to protect government officials — and even start a new civilization — in the case of just such a nightmare event.
Journalist Garrett Graff takes readers through the 60-year history of the government’s secret Doomsday plans to survive nuclear war in his painstakingly researched book “Raven Rock: The Story of the U.S. Government’s Secret Plan to Save Itself — While the Rest of Us Die” (Simon & Schuster), out now.
He focuses on the Cold War-era government bunkers across the country that were built to house the President and various Washington elites — members of a so-called “shadow government” in the worst nuclear Armageddon scenario.

All that will be left is local warlords.
The “plans” of the elite are laughable.
Clearly we have “advisors” in Ukraine. THEY control the narrative, CIA, FBI and the armed services. WE are in Ukraine and have “boots on the ground”, and in Syria.
I’m saying I want to focus on America, not squabbles half a world away.

Instead try focusing on the immediate problems like totally destroying the Russian military on the cheap, while making it possible for a small and new country (Ukraine) to determine its right to exist, its right of self-determination and its freedom - I’m sure if you had been around in June of 1967, there would have been another country you would have made the same argument about.
Then ask yourself: What does America stand for - freedom from oppression or money? If America only stands for itself and money, then America is doomed.
Does America stand for allowing a free people to be crushed **again** under the boot of Russia and all that goes with that, and does it love money so badly that America willing to allow others to die to preserve a few dollars?
A war where 10s of thousand are killed and 4 times that wounded in the space of 6 months is not a ‘squabble’.
There is no “America” when the DC elites refuse to defend our own border.
You are living in the past.
Love the conflation - keep it up and you might actually find a way to make and intelligent point ... one day.

So you are trying to argue that we have invaded the Ukraine?
In the event of a nuclear war that the deep state started, should deep state criminals be allowed to escape to safe nuclear bunkers?
Not if I had my way, but if they plan on starting a nuclear war, I would be pretty sure they would make sure they were all tucked in before starting it.
But just think, all the nastiest, most selfish, most perverted and degenerate people on earth, stuffed in little bunkers ( even palacial well stocked bunkers) for months, can you imagine how horrible? Then they come out, the earth is scorched and wasted because of their folly, they have no useful skills, and all the “peasants” who did the work, raised the food, kept the machines running, that they despised so much, are all now dead? So they eventually go to subsistence living like primitive peoples scratching a living from the woods.

If you don’t believe it just turn on a TV somewhere and watch the ads.
Lotta good it will do them. Surviving, then coming out and no one left to boss around. They’ll starve to death.
Still waiting for that intelligent argument ... but no one is holding their breath waiting.

So, the government employees come out after the bombs drop signing:

Someone in my family has been inside Raven Rock and it is pretty impressive. They have their own fire department with full size fire engines etc.
Hitler had no claim on France, Poland, England, etc.
The territories Putin is trying to claim or manage were once part of Russia. Whether he is correct in trying to claim them in the way he is trying is not for me to decide. It is a European problem.
Ukraine has proved that Russia can be resisted provided the Europeans put up a meaningful force. Germany, France, Italy, Hungary, Poland Czechoslovakia and all of the many others could have managed Putin without the US. In other words, if they are so gutless as to do nothing while Putin invades one of their neighbors, they deserve whatever they end up with. Ukraine is not a member of NATO and we owe them nothing. As it is, we are destroying our country for a country populated with maybe 1,000 Putins. And a few Hunter Bidens thrown in for good measure.
