A friend of mine has a Tesla. I asked him about this. If idle in traffic the car will shut off until it’s ready to move again.

My F-150 and my Escape both do that. Well, the truck no longer does since I had that feature turned off with a performance tune.
It defaults to “on” on the Escape, but I turn it off normally. My first couple of cars had a stalling problem, so it’s a cringe moment having the engine shut down for us old timers.
