Some business owners (like me) had our best years ever in 2020 and 2021 -- because we refused to shut down while our competitors were compliant morons.

How did you avoid the threats of fines or loss of licenses/permits for non-compliance?

Never had to deal with that. Most of my work is done at project sites and in my own office. I traveled extensively in 2020 and 2021. I was working on one big project where I was supposed to be working with a client’s staff at a project site. Their lawyer drafted a document with all kinds of daily testing requirements and indemnification clauses and told me that my company staff wouldn’t be allowed on-site without signing it. I told them (gently) that they’d be better off keeping their staff home and letting me and my people do 100% of the work instead of 50% of it. They were actually thrilled to do that — probably because they were dealing with Branch Covidian employees who didn’t want to leave their homes.
