I’m sorry...but since when did evacuations start at a cat 3 offshore to cat 1 landfall? A 4 or a 5 I could understand...but a 3-1?

Remember when NYC was shut down for a Category 1? Forgot the exact year -- I think it was under Cuomo. IIRC, winds were expected to be -- gasp! -- up to 75mph.

If those creampuffs couldn't handle 75 mph, they would've dropped dead in fright at OK's 318 mph winds on 05/03/99 (F-5 tornado).

its not the wind its the cat three an four surge in front of the storm is the reason they are evacuating looking at 5-8 feet in Tampa bay that will run all the way up every inlet an river on west coast. chill !

Call me a creampuff.... I was scared creamless as I watched it come straight at us for over an hour, before it turned north... whew.....
