Big Ben Chimes every minute, I think.
I just saw a side-on view of the royal procession behind the coffin. Charles was in the 1st rank, and Andrew was in the second rank.
It was often said (alleged) he was her favorite..
its not every time . just keep watching..I think maybe he forgets himself. saw it in the beginning too
Ooops sorry not Burisma (must of had that Ukraine company on my mind) ....favourite horse Burmese
the way the brits pronounce mall throws me off. i couldnt figure out what they were talking about the first time I heard it... like Mowl
There is a Mace that sits on the table in Parliament, but it’s larger than that sceptre.
In fact, that is the Sceptre from the Crown Jewels on the coffin, along with the Orb. The Crown, Sceptre, and Orb together are the most important of the Crown Jewels in symbolising the powers of the Monarch.
“I set my dvr to never watch this.”
That’s too bad. It is a beautiful ceremony, chock full of history and pageantry, and the Queen orchestrated much of it, probably most of it. The music is outstanding. You might have learned something about duty, service, tradition, and how the Queen was the personification of all of these qualities. Your loss.
Yes, that is Big Ben - it is tolling once a minute during the procession.
there you go again with Prince Andrew ahead of the King.
Maybe he is so stricken with grief he cant get his marching right
There are troops from every Commonwealth Realm in the procession, but the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have certainly been given a very prominent position.
Thank you. This is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
The sceptre is meant to represent the crown’s power and governance, and has
been used in every coronation since 1661, when it was created for the coronation
of King Charles II.It's not quite in its original condition, though—in 1910, when King George V,
Queen Elizabeth's grandfather, had the sceptre altered to include the massive,
530.2 carat Cullinan I diamond, the largest cut white diamond in the world.
The second largest of the stones, the Cullinan II, is set into the Imperial State Crown below the irregularly shaped Black Prince's Ruby.
The four children of the Queen are meant to be in a single row but it really is hard to maintain perfection. Andrew is not supposed to get in front of the King, but he’s also not supposed to be behind him - it really is to be expected he may do both.
(I am talking about in this situation - in other situations, Andrew is now definitely supposed to walk behind the King - but at this funeral, they are all participating as children of the late sovereign rather than as a King, and a Prince.)
I would be very surprised if he is doing it deliberately - Andrew is a deeply flawed man, but he is actually pretty obsessive on the protocols - that is why he is so distressed at the parts he is no longer permitted to fully observe.
So is the protocol that you are suppose to be behind the King..even Camilla..except when they are marching like this?
Camilla is riding in the limo right behind the coffin, along with Kate and her kids.
Yes, the spouse of the reigning monarch always walks behind. Prince Philip always walked behind QE2.
Surprised Charles and Andrew have made it this far without stroking out.
Whoever put the horses at the front didn’t think it through.
I was talking in general...although I am not sure Camilla always walks a step or half step behind the King. Never paid attention to it.It would be hard to always do that in all the occasions as you are milling about
