The crown we are seeing at the funeral is the Imperial State Crown, which is the secondary British crown.

I have been wondering about this-- the crown shown in old newsreels of George Vi's coronation seems bigger and the four "spines" are more curved.

My question for you is, why was Elizabeth given a smaller crown?

I guess the fact that Mike and Zara aren’t demonizing HRH Elizabeth II every chance they get had something to do with their sitting in the front row, lol. Plus Zara is an accomplished equestrienne like her mother, which I’m sure endeared her forever to the Queen.

Those children were so well behaved, weren’t they? I adore them! Charlotte strongly resembles my granddaughter who is also 7, so I love seeing pics of her. I call them “my kids,” lol.

I kept a dry eye throughout it except the very very end of the BBC telecast when they closed with a young and old Elizabeth facing each other in profile on a black background with EIIR 1926-2022 between then. Then I lost it.
