The politicization of the education system has destroyed parent-teacher relations. Can the situation be fixed?
The politicization of the education system has destroyed parent-teacher relations. Instead of encouraging healthy communication among parents, teachers, and administrators, public school officials have continued undermining parental rights and implementing their own political ideologies into coursework. Teachers unions work to vilify concerned parents and label them as "extremists" for showing up and trying to be involved in their children's educational process.
Sixty-eight percent of parents surveyed by The Learning Heroes expressed concerns about politicians making curriculum decisions. Eighty-two percent of parents recently admitted in a Harris Poll that they are willing to change their political affiliation over educational policies. Trust in the public education system has dropped to a second all-time low, and conservative and moderate teachers recognize this. They are leaving left-leaning in favor of private schools, microschools, and homeschooling options.
I have been homeschooling my children for over 10 years now. My family was forced out of the public education system when the district that served us lost its accreditation. I also work as an English teacher at our local co-op.
I do not have an education degree, but I have worked in professional writing for over a decade. My lengthy experience working with various genres has offered just as much credibility as any teaching certificate. Instead of learning from someone who has only been trained to teach, my students are gaining insider knowledge from someone who writes for a living. In exchange, I am rejuvenated with hope for the future as I teach creative writing to upper elementary students and also high school journalism.

Teachers, like police, are no longer trustworthy anymore than a ‘diverse’ neighbor is to be trusted.
One of the dynamics at work here is that schools are increasingly funded by working Americans who will never have children - and are serving non-American student bodies. NJ is expanding its “free breakfast” program to more schools, so in many districts American taxpayers can provide TWO meals per day to imported student bodies. NYC even expanded the free lunch program to include summers.
The people paying for these programs increasingly are distinct and separate from the beneficiaries.
In Chicago, the give away is breakfast and lunch everyday - plus a bag full of food on Friday afternoon so the illegals will have food for the weekend.
Everything else is free - school supplies, books, any other needed materials, etc.
For starters, they could go back to teaching the 3 Rs without all the BS.
Right; the school supply giveaways are an end-of-summer rite of passage here in NJ. Anyone shopping at these businesses that are “giving away” school supplies should be smart enough to realize the costs are just being passed on to them.
Like the commercials a few years back saying if you buy a laptop they’ll give one to a child in Africa, or more recently if you buy a pair of socks they’ll give one to a needy person, the paying consumer should see very clearly they are just buying TWO laptops/pairs of socks, and the second ones are being given to someone else.
You were probably including this in your indoctrination, but let me add "being groomed by gays, lesbians, and colorful trannies in drag shows."
All of them quit. They (teachers & administration) have proven themselves to be incredibly evil and only care about political powers
