Joe Biden has chosen the autocrat’s tactic of marginalization of large segments of the American population; an action which can be the first step in a tragic spiral of violence and destruction.
I’ve always detested people who make facile comparisons of anything that goes on in the U.S. to the manifold horrors of Nazi Germany. The freedoms and privileges we’ve enjoyed in this extraordinary nation made even the worst problems we’ve experienced pale in comparison to the brutality and death perpetrated by the Third Reich. To my mind, drawing parallels between them is a cheap, insulting, and wholly illegitimate way of gaining quick attention.
However, the MAGA+FASCIST= JANUARY 6th phony equation now emanating from Joe Biden and his party -- even going to the obscene length of enlisting the recent solemn remembrance of the 9/11 nightmare -- oblige me to ask the reader’s indulgence while I tread upon my own rule.
The Dems comparisons of January 6th to 9/11 would be merely preposterous if it were not so morally disgusting; their strained attempts to make the D.C. riot of January 6, 2021 and the resulting trespasses upon the Capitol building into a seminal, earth-shaking event require them to take mendacity to new depths.
In fact, there is an historical event that’s somewhat closer to the mark, but it’s one that every Democrat would be loath to recognize: for purely naked political purposes Biden and many Democrats are trying to make January 6th into some poor facsimile of the Reichstag Fire.

The only question now is can we reverse course.

With all due respect I doubt it. I know by “we” you mean conservatives and other responsible people but “we” in a larger sense is problematic now. Our culture, demographics, morality, ethics, democratic ideals, respect for laws, etc have all fundamentally changed. We are not the country we once were. That is the reality.
Don’t ask me. As them. They are the ones who beg for our votes and money but do very little in return to justify our support.
I understand our situation but I’d rather remain optimistic than hopeless.
“Most of the fatalities occurred during the second half of World War II, including at least a third of the 700,000 prisoners who were registered as of January 1945.”
__________
Fatalities?
Uhh, at this point in the piece, might they more accurately be termed “murders”?
This kind of loose neutrality, antisepticity, passive non-judgmentalism, often pops up in stories about mass murder.
I appreciate that. If we had a party fighting for us (and I mean really fighting) my views would be different. The DC cesspool has contaminated both parties unfortunately. I believe there is wide recognition of that.
I would also be more optimistic if the R’s would replace current leadership. I realize they “removed” Cheney (that took two rounds of voting amazingly) but McConnell and McCarthy (Paul Ryan’s puppet) are still there. The same weak “generals” who don’t play to win battles.
The R’s are coming out with a “Commitment to America” next week. I watched McCarthy talk about it on the Laura Ingrahm Show and he dodged her pointed questions. Even she got frustrated with him. As usual the purpose behind this 11th hour “pledge” is to generate more cash and votes. Bear in mind that here we are just a few weeks away from a pivotal election and few people have any idea what the GOP stands for.
One thing seems obvious to me: Republicans simply don’t want to lead and that is the problem. Trump leads, but the party is uncomfortable with him, at best.
Do you have a point to make?
It will not ramp down afterwards.
Nice try but no. Biden’s Reichstag fire is still to come. J6 was simply a target of opportunity, making the most of the opposition’s unforced errors. This year’s October Surprise will make history.
Remember the Maine! Remember? The perfect scenario. Saboteurs blew it up. A quick war started over it. Only afterwards did they find out it was a boiler that blew up.
