EPIC came into my hospital several years ago. The system which we had been using for years was perfectly fine. They gave us a whole story about a single woman designed the format and that it was hoped to eventually standardize the medical records nationally and globally. I see that software everywhere now. I mean I see it and I want to log in and see if my software credentials are good where EPIC can be found.

The woman ‘Inventor’ was from either Wisconsin or Minnesota ( I forget) and she was now quite filthy rich. Not much else on details though. I am very interested in this article you linked and I will look at as soon as I can. Thanks.

Here's the supposed inventor. But personally, I think her story about inventing it sounds like standard CIA boilerplate.

Epic headquarters is in Verona, Wisconsin. Founder is Judith Faulkner.
Verona is 20 miles from my home and is about 15 miles from Madison (Madistan).
