Scott Frost’s time at Nebraska has come to an end.

Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts announced Sunday that the school has fired Frost as head coach just three games into his fifth season on the job.

The move comes on the heels of a 45-42 home loss to Georgia Southern that dropped the Huskers to 1-2 on the season and 16-31 overall with Frost as head coach. On top of that, the loss put the Huskers at an unfathomable 5-22 in one-possession games under Frost.

They could trade him for Bill O’Brien!. BOB hates recruiting though, and recruiting at Nebraska is way too tall an order for him.

I’ve heard Mullen’s name mentioned for the Nebraska job, and he really hates recruiting. Funny, even heard Urban Meyer’s name mentioned, he’s probably checking out how the coeds there look, LOL.

All Sun Belt conference teams.

It’s always a good weekend when Notre Dame loses.

Uh no I meant Blake. I’m not a fan of all the moving but we didn’t start it either.

Yep. I think it hurt their ability to attract talent from areas typically part of the Big-12.

‘Nowledge hasn’t been since the move.

Had ucf played a big boy schedule in 2017, they would have been exposed.

Lots of folks seem to disagree with you.

The Auburn team UCF defeated was ranked 7th in the nation when they played UCF and had given eventual national champion Alabama its only defeat that year. UCF was ranked #6 in the nation in the final 2017 AP poll. Auburn #10.

The sad thing with Foley....I was really glad when he got the job after Arnsparger was rightly ousted. I don’t blame him at all for hiring Zook. We’d been rejected by Shanahan and Stoops, it was the 11th hour and he knew Zook could at least recruit. Getting Urban Meyer was a coup even if Machen had a hand in it.

Had he retired in 2010 or so he’d have gone down as a fantastic AD even if there were a couple decisions I disagreed with. But he hung around too long, dug his heels in on some really bad decisions like refusing to invest in football when our competitors were investing big in their programs, sticking with Muschamp even after it was obvious he was a busted flush.....yuck. He ruined his legacy by hanging around about 10 years too long.

P.S. about Muschamp....I totally agree about the whole power running thing. That’s not our identity and its not the kind of talent our state produces. All 3 of the big 3 won with wide open passing offenses. Duh.

Also...you want to be a power running team and you inherit a recruiting class with only 2 OL...then you only sign 2 the next year? OK, at this point I was SCREAMING to everyone “AT LEAST FIVE! (OL)” in that next class. He signs only 2 again for a total of 6 OL in three years! Then he runs Silberman and Dunker off! So we’ve only got 4 scholarship OL over three classes! How the hell are you going to be a power running team or even remotely competent on Offense with 4 guys over three consecutive classes to cover five positions???? I would expect better roster management from a Pop Warner coach. That alone set us up for years of futility.

I was not thrilled with jumping to the Big10 but I was more disturbed when the Big 12 destroyed the NU vs OU annual game. Historically that was important to retain and they threw it away. The BiG10 didn’t make those mistakes with rivalry games and never will. The Big 12 destroyed their own conference and sealed their fate years ago. In reflection, I’m glad we left.

That Auburn team was severely depleted with injuries by the time they got to the bowl game. They lost their stud RB and IIRC another good RB who had been the backbone of their Offense. They were not the same team that played the regular season schedule by the time the bowl came around.

And for all these small school cinderellas....its one thing to get up for one big game. Its quite another to play one tough opponent after another week after week. The latter requires depth which they never have. None of them will ever get through a playoff for that reason.

When all Muschamp had to do was wait for Mack Brown to retire from Texas and he would have inherited the kingdom. But, he didn’t and he didn’t get the chance to destroy our program, we were able to find others to do it for him.

The craziest thing about Muschamp was him telling Derek Henry he was an LB in college and not an RB despite being a Gator Fan growing up, all he did was go to Alabama, win NCs, win the Heisman and now putting up a Hall of Fame NFL career.

He wanted to be a power running team and didn’t recruit perhaps the best power running back in the last 20 years.

That is the biggest colossal mistake I’ve ever seen.

"Pelini was a good coach but a bit of a psycho."

That's the nice way of saying it.

I believe the stud running back didn’t play because he didn’t want to get injured before the NFL draft.

In any case, the Auburn team that UCF faced was a watered down version of the team that beat Alabama.

I couldn’t believe the Cocks hired him after he took over a Florida roster with tons of talent and all the recruiting momentum in the world after Urban Meyer and proceeded to run the program into the ditch instantly.

He actually did learn basic roster management at South Carolina but he learned little else. He was a DC promoted well beyond his level of competence.

Fickell has been approached by other big schools. He turned them down. UC backed up the Brink’s Truck to his front door and his wife absolutely loves living in Cincinnati (it IS a great city to raise a family in).

Somebody will eventually pry Fickell out of the Clifton Campus but I do not see Nebraska being that school. Go Bearcats!

Yes but he “runs too high” and “won’t be a good running back in the SEC”.

Imagine telling that to a 5 star back! Incredible! Just how arrogant do you have to be to do that?

He also took Adam “the stain” Lane over Alex Collins. Amazing.

Also, once again Offense was just an afterthought to him. All the good athletes were supposed to exclusively play Defense. He was going to win by maximizing time of possession instead of silly things like y’know, scoring points.
