It is an issue with people who cannot obtain a ride home, and will be greater as Boomers age . However, if you got into an accident , any victim of your accident would sue the facility for releasing you to drive.

I was not groggy or in any way affected as far as I could tell when I left. I've been out on the sidewalk in my city at 2:00AM when the bars close watching drivers weave down the streets. I would rate the probability of getting a DUI as only slightly higher than winning the lottery.
The only DUIs I've ever heard about come after the crash.
And yet they won’t let you call a taxi cab either. It has to be someone you know, or some appoved form of medical transport. You can’t just call Uber and have them take you home. They won’t release you.
