My take (partly influenced by watching The Crown series) was that both were brats who never grew out of adolescence into adulthood and both loved being the center of attention.

Their marital clashes, including infidelities, revolved around this basic fact.

For sure. Anything pushed by the entertainment industry is going to be shaded by their lefty politics.

However, they tend to get the celebrity/personality parts of the royal family mostly right if, for no other reason, that that is what their celebrity obsessed audiences study profusely.

As it is today, the monarchy exists primarily as a charitable and social awareness branch of British culture. Because it retains it's strict family structure, we see that there are a few bad characters, but that's likely the case in any family.

My guess is that King Charles will pull back from his personal opinions and follow the course his mother had set.
