A former FBI investigator said Eliza Fletcher's kidnapping suspect had previously abducted a former co-worker of the heiress's uncle.
Jennifer Coffindaffer revealed that Cleotha Abston's first kidnapping victim, Memphis Attorney Kemper Durand, worked in the same flaw firm as Fletcher's uncle, Michael Keeney, NewsNation reports.
'I think this is a very significant clue, and I'm sure certainly that the FBI, the US Marshalls and the TBI is looking closely at this relationship,' Coffindaffer said.
Abston, 38, was only 16-years-old when he and an accomplice kidnapped Durand, threw him into his own trunk, and tried to force him to withdraw money at a gas station ATM in 2000.
Abston spent 22 years in jail for the crime, and two years later after his early release in 2020, he is back in custody for the suspected kidnapping and murder of Fletcher.

I am really curious about the money. Had she already inherited it and just decided to live a simple teachers life
Nothing wrong with that but could instill a motive
“My friend’s niece teaches at Eliza’s school. Gossip is still rampant that the husband is involved.”

Ridiculous… and it’s unseemly to advance such unfounded gossip, IMHO.
Well that stuff ends the possibiity that this ia Black murderer of a white woman..no racism here so just move along ..move along...blacks are not criminals..just victims led astray.
Case in point:
Fletcher was last seen jogging from her home in Central Gardens to near the University of Memphis around 4:20 am on Friday morning. What dumbass wears sandals to a planned kidnapping? At 6:45 am a good Samaritan was riding his bike when he found Eliza’s cell phone and some sandals in the area.
The man, unaware of what had occurred, was able to identify the phone from its contents and gave the items to the Fletcher family, who then turned them over to the authorities.
The sandals, Champion slides, that were left at the scene of the struggle provided DNA of the kidnapper, Abston.
The police were also able to find video footage of Absom [sic] wearing Champion slides the day before the abduction.
And who doesn't have a lock on their phone these days???
Don’t know.
Didn’t Alred’s firm also defend Weinstein? I recall her daughter (Bloom something) going to great lengths to support him.
