Trump is a born and bred Newyawker. His whole frame of reference comes from a lifetime of doing bizness there. He does not frolic in the local lingo but his manner comes from there. Remember he had a 13 year popular national TV show that didn’t seem to bother many folks. I more or less followed his business exploits from the early 70’s and don’t recall many/any ragging on about his “style.”
Do you all have the same reservations about any of the other Newyawk dirtbagz that populate bizness, TV, DC gummint? Pick one: say, Chuckie Shumer. Would you say the same thing about his style?
We had a new plant manager once that came from N.Y. Our current manager took the entire plant to the lunchroom to “warn” us that he would be different from us and would break rules that would get us fired. He said he would cuss and use a lot of profanity. He said he will scream if he isn’t getting his way. He said he will be loud and obnoxious by Southern standards. He said, “I know he will use words that will get you fired if you use them” and he explained that it was the N.Y. culture, especially with businessmen. We eventually mellowed him out and he became one of us. We came to love him.
So, yes, we are offended greatly by them at first. I won’t lie. Since I had seen President Trump on TV prior to him running for President, he didn’t bother me for as long as some.
Still, I liked what Trump was saying even if I found how he said it offensive at times.
That was my point about Derek. I have been around some former military that are rough in the way they talk and act. Probably not as rough and offensive as some “Newyawkers” but I understand them.
I will never find anybody as offensive as Schumer and some of those. They are true dirtbags. It wouldn’t matter if they talked with the slowest, sweetest, Southern accent ever heard. They would still be dirtbags.
