Is it just me or is it a "formal, presidential"-thing, but I can't recall military people (i.e. "Biden's" Marines) having a standing position where the hands are clasped in front at waist-level? When I was in, you were either at attention, parade rest, or as-you-were.

I did not watch the whole speech. But what I have seen reeks of desperation. My question is: Who did it better? Hitler or Mao? Because that is what the backdrop brought to mind. Husband said he thinks they were trying to invoke patriotism and “rockets red glare”. Bannon talks about Moloch and that is true. Moloch, Hitler, Mao, etc., etc., etc., have one source of inspiration. So if they thought they were invoking “rockets red glare” they failed miserably. It was dark and creepy and intentionally threatening.
