Can someone explain the significance of this. I am not following this issue, therefore find it confusing.

My (superficial and ignorant) take:

Either way this goes will be good for Trump/patriots. IMO the biggest problem we have is inconsistently and hypocritically applied “laws”. I’d personally be happy with a lot more of the law if it applied equally to everyone.

That said, what I think seems to be brewing here is a setup where Trump will lose this case, thus setting the precedent to overturn the executive privilege of other (dirty, criminal) former Presidents.

Comments? Arguments?

I think Justice K has the right tact here being that to allow a following executive to undo the privilege of the former (and particularly competitor) would destroy presidential communications.

In any event, the Judge in FLA is noting that the DoJ is claiming something that has yet to be adjudicated.

No further sauce, this was dropped at the end of the show.
