Until very recently, it was a normal and commonsense thing to say you don’t approve of children being pumped full of hormones or surgically altered for no medical reason. In fact, that’s what a majority of people still believe. Yet, when Brittany Aldean (wife of country music star Jason Aldean) recently said so, woke celebrities went ballistic.
In the caption of a makeup video she shared to Instagram, Brittany Aldean wrote, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”
This sentiment, while shared in a lighthearted way, touches on a very real phenomenon that many women can relate to. Being a tomboy used to mean nothing but that. Now, many young women are being pushed to change their gender just because they don’t conform to stereotypes. And this has much more dire consequences than depriving them of the ability to do their makeup later in life.
But none of this matters to the gender ideologues who, despite holding fringe positions, act as if anyone who disagrees with them is wholly out of the mainstream. Because Brittany Aldean had committed the crime of being publicly conservative, she received swift pushback from woke country singers.
Cassadee Pope tweeted that Brittany Aldean should include “LGBTQ+ people” in her messaging. Maren Morris added, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”
There are plenty more tweets where those came from, and the ongoing drama, which isn’t worth getting further into, includes pile-ons from singer Brandi Carlile, author Glennon Doyle, and TV star Jonathan Van Ness.
The Twitter beef is immaterial; what’s striking about this whole situation is the vehemence with which celebrities have gone after a woman who expressed a common opinion — and one that would not have been controversial just a few years ago.
In her response to the backlash, Brittany Aldean wrote, “Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care,’ is one of the worst evils. I will always support my children and do what I can do protect their innocence.” She added, “Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly that they're willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren't old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions. Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions. Until then, leave children alone.”
This seems like an anodyne statement. But not to today’s Left, which is swift to condemn any person whose common sense conflicts with its agenda.

What struck me is how well Brittany Aldean made her point. Even someone who disagrees with her has to give her that. On the other hand, Cassadee Pope went straight for the ad hominem, and I have no idea what the rest of it meant.
There’s been very little real country music in over 30 years.
Aren’t we supposed to be 100% okay with every person’s identity? She’s happy to be a girl.
This is 2022. Wokeness and identity is so 2015. Time to be done with that stuff.

Maren referred to Alden as an “Insurrection Barbie” so Brittany made a new T-shirt line inspired by “Barbie”
Maren Morris seems like a real POS. She has an offensive song saying radio is her church in which she blasphemes the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. She reveled in Christians being offended by that. Reading about her when I heard that song, it was obvious she’s just another far left jerk.
It’s funny. I was on the train today and saw a scrawny, likely trans-something-or-other person wearing a baggy polo shirt, with a backwards baseball cap (color coordinated), who had “Boyish” tattooed on their neck. I guess they had to have that tattooed because the artist probably laughed at them when they wanted “Manly” tattooed there.

Liberal mind - an 8 year old is old enough and mature enough to decide on “gender reassignment surgery” but an 18 year old is not old enough or mature enough to purchase a beer, a cigarette, or a firearm.

That's literally true. Casadee Pope who is one of the woke twitter banshees in the article above. She was on "The Voice" and wanted to be the next Avril Lavigne pop-rock star. She went country because that was the door that was opened for her and to hell with her own artistic vision. Cha-ching!
John Rich and Travis Tritt would tell you that most country singers are left-wing and actually despise most of their audience. But hey, they’re making money, so they’ll loath you as they take your dollars.
The husband and wife country act, I cant remember their name, were caught on video laughing at their trailer park audience.
