I was under the impression that the FBI was more like the KGB, but their blatant lawlessness and raiding tactics are right out of the Gestapo playbook.

I think the CIA is the KGB in this scenario.

One protects the interests of the State (Law Makers).
FBI
The State’s interests are nation-focused (spy on the people).

The other protects the Party’s interests.
CIA
The Party’s interest are global (spy on other countries and military).
