Donald Trump demanded that Republicans replace Mitch McConnell as their Senate leader in a brutal statement where he attacked the Kentucky senator and his wife, former Transportation secretary Elaine Chao.
The former president accused McConnell of being a 'pawn' for Democrats and said his inaction is causing moves in Congress 'our Country can never recover from'.
He also claimed that McConnell and Chao, who is Chinese, got 'rich' off of decades of business with China and said a new Republican Senate leader should be chosen.
Most predictions point to Republicans taking back a majority in Congress in the 2022 midterms, but Trump says McConnell shouldn't be the one to continue leading the party in the upper chamber.
'Mitch McConnell is not an Opposition Leader, he is a pawn for the Democrats to get whatever they want,' the former president wrote in a Wednesday statement. 'He is afraid of them, and will not do what has to be done.'
'A new Republican Leader in the Senate should be picked immediately!'
Last week, McConnell warned Republicans could risk not winning back a Senate majority due to 'candidate quality' among its nominees – a direct blow to Trump as endorsements have become his biggest source of power post-presidency.

I don’t really see where he “mocks” Chao, besides the ‘coco’ part which sounds like a nickname, but as a lifelong public figure and in view of comments she made when she left the administration as well as the fact the McConnells have profited mightily from her family’s business she is definitely not above criticism.

That would be a good idea, but only if we had runoff elections. Runoff elections would break the monopoly the establishment has now. So we will never have runoff elections.

McConnell is part of the “gang of eight” in the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. They are all uniparty statists, and are the filter and partner for all CIA/FBI/DOJ cooperation in the US Congress. They are anti-MAGA. McConnell saddled Trump with the treacherous Sessions as his AG, and has made sure that DOJ has had free-reign to harass Trump with the help of Democrats, to keep Trump in check.
This may be the opening move of that goal.
This is a well deserved and accurate shot across the bow of the GOPe Elite. Trump knows McConnell is throwing the midterms to the Ds because his candidates largely lost. A Democrat majority is more favorable to McConnell than MAGA.
Better idea imo is to run MAGA candidates as Democrats. It would be a lot harder for deep state to stop maga if they were infiltrating both parties.
Mr President, I propose you take on a different line of attack on the quislings in congress. Start publicly demanding that the IRS conduct Forensic Audits of ALL Elected Officials nationwide every year, and they should be a Public Record.
Don’t forget the big smiles on Mcconnell and CIA boss Gina Haspell’s faces when they met together right after Trump “lost.”
