Is Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner's slide the prettiest play in baseball?

The Washington Nationals are currently 42-83. It was a great time just a few years ago when Trea Turner, et al., were playing with the Nats and they won the World Series.

Ownership has quit caring about the Nationals, before the WS win, they let Harper go, after the WS, they let Rendon go, last summer they let Trea go(along with Scherzer, who would have been an FA) and now this summer, they traded Soto. Supposedly, Trea was happy here and was shocked when he was traded with Scherzer..Hell of a ballplayer, always enjoyed watching him play.

I don’t know how he does it. When I played ball, my cleats-first slide always tore up my shins.

So I switched to head-first. It didn’t give me brush-burns on my legs, but the opposing players always purposely stepped on my hand

Fred Lynn had it. Sweetest swing in baseball.

I look at this very differently. Most of his trajectory on the ground is AFTER he touches home plate.

In that particular case it looks like he would have been better off just crossing home plate standing up.

Yeah, they’ve had some really fun players to watch. I used to watch a lot of their games and go downtown four or five times a season. I don’t think I’ve seen a full game since the World Series. I started losing interest during COVID, and then baseball got political, and then they instituted disagreeable rule changes.
