[EXCERPT] Sleep problems are common among Americans, but a growing body of research reveals glaring racial and ethnic disparities in sleep quality and quantity that have major health consequences.
Compared with white Americans, people who are African American or Black, Hispanic or Latinx, American Indian, Native Alaskan, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander are more likely to have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, and getting deep, restorative sleep. These groups are also more likely to have sleep disorders such as insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea, yet are less likely to receive a doctor’s diagnosis and get treatment for these problems, researchers have found. (We’ll dive into the numbers below.)
The result isn’t just feeling tired during the day. Studies, including a review published in 2019 the journal Nature and Science of Sleep, link slumber inequities with higher risk for chronic, life-threatening health conditions that racial and ethnic minority groups develop at higher rates than white people. These include type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, anxiety, and even an early death.
And research points to systemic racism as the major, underlying cause. [END EXCERPT]

another excuse for acting like wild animals?
They had has much choice being born with their skin as I did with mine
Only racists seem to be hung up about it and need to get a life
So.... The next major legislative push will be equity in sleeping. Sleep More Better (modeled after Build Back Better) will involve hiring 2 x 87,000 (the new IRS hires) to monitor and WAKE UP any honky sleeping beyond his allotment. To Each According to Their Sleep Number, Wake Each According to Their Sleep Allotment. Any and all afternoon nap minutes will be deducted from their overall nighttime total. Repeat offenders will be placed on the Tear Down This Wall squad (dismantling Trump’s southern border wall) and not allowed to sleep until the wall is destroyed.
Invariably the reports of urban crime/murders include the time of the crime...”Shaniqua and Latrina were standing on the sidewalk at 3am when they were shot in a drive-by.”
Maybe don’t be out and about at 3am and you’ll get some sleep.
Sounds more like systemic stupidity. Obama and Biden voter for sure. Probably thinks Kamala Harris is fantastic. If academia had any integrity left they would throw this moron out on the street.
No problem, for “restorative justice”, we’ll just have all the crackers wear earpieces that randomly blare loud noises into our ears, just like in Harrison Bergeron.
Give them all some Xanax.
Everything else is racists, why not a good Sleep.
Read it for yourself, it’s basically an editorial review of several “studies” blaming poor sleep in non-whites mainly on “system racism’s .
—————
This reminds me of the recent NIH “study” which declared that FIFTY PERCENT of American black women are OBESE due to the “stress of racism.”
........Words fail me.........
If that’s the case, I am going to sign off now to try to be a racist.
yup
Everything is racist
So now nothing is racist
I am, too.
I paid my dues long ago. I have suffered for decades now and do not owe race-bigots anything.
I believe in equal rights and equal treatment under the law for all, of all races. That makes me a radical but I no longer care.
Only one solution - separation of the races. Let each control their own destiny so they don’t have to put up with evil whites.
Maybe those who are making charges of racism are Marxists—or at least, useful idiots.
But, but, I dream in Black and white. Now is that racist too?
Let me sleep on it.
I’ll give you an answer in the morning.
Many chuckles for that comment ... and so true!
Yawn....A good night sleep is racist. What ISN’T racist, fools?
