If true, this is another major escalation. I’d say the KGB is as proficient at this type thing as the CIA. I’d prefer a war of offing theirs and our leadership rather than killing innocent everyday Ukrainians, Russians and Americans.
Let us hope that the KGB and the CIA/FBI kill each other off until the last man. Both countries would be better off.

By whom? This guy had plenty of enemies in Russia who don’t believe in Putin’s nationalistic ideals.
