funny personal slide note...
I lead a Thursday evening home group. What an adventure this has been. Great people and lots of love. Anyway, we referenced a few verses where Peter is mentioned and I noted that he always seems to say, or do, the wrong thing at the wrong time.
I suggested that trendy WWJD NONSENSE that was going around a few years ago with the comment; “What would Jesus do? He’d be the Creator of everything, out of nothing by simply speaking it all into existence, He’d be born of a virgin, heal the sick and the blind, raise people from the dead, He’d live a sinless life and pay for the sins of everyone. YOU AIN’T JESUS!”
I suggested the better approach should be WWPD-what would Peter do? That is the better view of who we are. I jokingly suggested that I might even make a t-shirt with with that upon it. Well, last night we had a social night together and YUP, they gave me a shirt with that on it. Still laughing about this.
I can’t wait to wear it to church this morning and it will certainly be entertaining and interesting to see who “gets it”, especially the pastor, as he greets everyone before the service.
He didn’t “get it” when I titled our group.”Route 66: James- the first letter on the way”, asking; “why route 66?”
...umm...because there are 66 books in the Bible and James is the fist NT letter/book written”. That’s why =o)
I may soon have to find a different church, where the pastor knows the bible. ::eyeroll::
