/sarcasm on/Now I know what the food discs from "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and those squares of food from "Star Trek" were made of./sarcasm off/ One of the major markers of class in the past was food. The elites had access to meat and cheese while the rest of society ate mostly bread and other grain products. This is the main reason gout, caused by excessive consumption of meat and wine, was associated with the rich. In Europe, the elites justified this unequal access to food by claiming they had a different constitution from their inferiors. It appears we ae headed back to food as a marker of class as the World Economic Forum types are able to eat meat while the rest of us have to make due with insects for protein.

https://ca.entomofarms.com/products/actually-foods-cheese-puffs-powder-by-crickets We’ve ditched so-called “natural” ingredients that are actually not as clean as they claim. Instead we’re making something you can feel good about, using unexpected ingredients that, although surprising, actually boast health benefits.
Powered by sustainably farmed organic cricket flour, fava beans and lentils, Actually food puffs are a source of protein, rich in B12 and a natural source of fibre.
They are puffed to perfection and a satisfying snack that's actually good for you.
Actually Foods, a smarter way to snack.

If it comes to the only food option being bugs, I will hunt down the people responsible. I’m not eating bugs.

My wife and I were watching Bear Grylls one night. To my wife’s disgust she watched Bear eating bugs, as a survival lesson. She nearly lost her dinner.

Plenty of protein is available in Florida (snakes) and Texas (feral hogs).
Feral hogs are running rampant in Texas, a sow can birth up to six litters a year. Little chance they'd be overhunted.

As soon as they got rid of Trump, the globalists started saying “you will own nothing and be happy” and you should eat bugs and locusts instead of beef. People like that would steal an election without batting an eyelash.

Chiten cannot be processed out of insects, and CANNOT be processed by the human body.
It can cause all sorts of problems as a result.

I would eat them.
What's the hang-up? If you eat shrimp, crabs and lobsters, well those are basically the insects of the sea.
After all, crickets are the new lobster, as they say. (I think that would make a great advertising slogan.)
Now don't get me wrong, I also like a nice juicy steak. But I could definitely find a place in my diet for these little creatures. They really are packed with nutrition and roasted with a little garlic and olive oil, I'm sure they would make a side dish for my backyard barbeques that would make me the talk of the neighborhood.

Every time I walk outside, this time of year, I hear millions of crickets and locusts/grasshoppers and I think, “yum, food for the taking”, then I awake from my nightmare by a gobble of a turkey in the distance.
