Ok, well, the mother was trying to do the right thing here…she had called for help with her 14 year old because the girl was out of control and running away. So the girl was in a group home, complained to the social worker that they didn’t have enough to eat…and was basically told to go out and turn a few tricks to get money for food.
Obviously mother doesn’t want her daughter to follow in her steps, and she’s trying to do something about it…support her, don’t shoot her down. She has seven kids, so help her to make sure that these seven kids don’t go on to have seven out of wedlock children of their own.
That state worker shouldn’t just be out of a jib, she should be in jail. Incidentally, the “case worker” sounded about one step down on the educational and social scale from the girl’s mother.
They hire the bottom of the barrel for these jobs, and the departments are usually run by people just like them. If we’re paying for it anyway, what about getting an effective system that actually helps to break the cycle? Not an evil one that thinks it’s fine to send kids out to make money for food by selling their bodies.
The welfare system has destroyed so many families by paying more when the father is not present. They should have increased the payment if the father is present and helps raise the kids. Think how many of these unmarried women would be hunting down the father knowing there’s money to be had in making him help raise the kids. Come on, guys: being a father is easy, being a parent is not. Time to man-up!
