Actress Anne Heche sustained a catastrophic brain injury in the fiery Mar Vista crash last week and is not expected to survive, her representative said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive,” the statement read.
Heche is “being kept on life support to determine if any [of her organs] are viable” for donation, the statement added.
“Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit. More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work — especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love. She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light,” the spokesperson added.
video showed Heche’s blue Mini Cooper Clubman being towed out of the home, with a woman sitting up on a stretcher and struggling as firefighters put her in an ambulance.
Heche is being treated at Grossman Burn Center in West Hills, CNN reported, and in the spokesperson’s statement, they extended thanks to “the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne,” as well as “everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery.”

Yeah. A very sad life ending very sadly.
“More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work”
Spread it at 90 mph....like a flaming meteor right into your garage.
Sad story.
Ion just ran the Chicago PD episode where her character was given time to commit suicide by Sgt.Hank Voigt but his cops intervened and she had to face prison for killing the evil police commander who was about to become an evil mayor. He deserved to die and it was so great to see him dead with blood under him. Sad she was even picked up for it. Good episode.
Many people initially survive a fire only to die days latter due to inhaling super heated air. Doctors will often intubate a patient who has burns to their head and chest even if they appear stable and alert because the trachea and bronchi will swell up. Even with that the damage to the lungs is often too severe.
How’d she vote last time?
I hope she had insurance that will cover replacement of the house and contents she destroyed. The owner lost everything.
Prayers up, Hollywood is a sad place.
.
Tonight in the ER I work in there was a little girl about five or six years old with Downs Syndrome who had more tubes in her than my cars engine and I’m supposed to care about a self destructive, drunken Hollywood degenerate?
Please. She bought it on herself.
You watch tv. Good for you.
It's a miracle Heche didn't kill any innocent people during that 90 mph "trip".
Sad to think she never had a last chance to repent and give herself to Christ. All our prayers should be for family members and hope they turn to Jesus for strength and comfort. Unless she revives long enough and chooses to use the time to repent then prayers for her will not help.
I am catching up on decades of shows. My dear wife of nearly 5 years passed away a few months ago and I hate the spooky silence without her at home with me.
I never watched a network series since maybe 1990. Only effect was I didn't know the advertisement catchphrases everyone said all day----I was out of the loop. I watched crime and cop detective dvds from Darren McGavin's Mike Hammer onward, on my terms.
I would much prefer to not watch TV and have my wonderful wife back with me. I really miss but I'm grateful she didn't suffer before dying quietly at home.
Just read her IMDb biography - I agree! Totally messed-up life (generational!).
Regards,
I meant my dear wife of nearly 50 years. Big typo. Sorry
Lately I've taken to watching “Perry Mason’’.
I remember as a little kid my mother loved that show.
Now as an adult I do too.
It was well written , well produced and Raymond Burr, William Hopper , Barbra Hale and the other cast members were very good actors.
Yes. That’s exactly what I said earlier. I don’t believe she ever repented. A lost soul.
so sorry about your wife....life....life can be difficult.
Watching Perry Mason myself lately. I never had seen it before but I love the clothes, the cars, the set design, and the cast — especially William Hopper. I wouldn’t watch modern American television for any amount of money.
