Exactly, apparently it did very poorly with test audiences.

I’m assuming it’s awful because not only are they not releasing it to theaters, they are not putting it on any streaming service.

Given the amount of money spent on the project, I can only assume it is so bad that WB thinks it could harm the DC Film franchise.

Warner is not even putting it directly on streaming.

Considering the awful dreck which has made it to at least a direct to video release over the past 40 years, a refusal to release it at all implies that it must be awful...

I have no doubt she got pressure from the producers and whatnot, but I don’t recall any fans calling her fat or making any major thing out her body or weight.

That movie got savaged justifiably so, but I don’t recall any major fan uproar about how she looked in the costume.

I do recall the costumes of Robin and Batman being mocked mercilessly for their gay look abs nipples…

But I don’t recall any major fan trashing of Silverstone for being or looking fat.

I am sure a troll or two may have but a big fan uproar about it? Not at all.

I have no doubt producers and folks in the industry probably pressured her about her weight and how she looked… but the fans?!? Nope

Considering I saw this movie, in the theater, Alicia Silverstone was just about the only “good” thing in the movie, although Uma Thurman had her moments!!

I cannot recall a single story, person, article, or uttering about Alicia Silverstone being “fat”! And she definitely did NOT look “fat”!!

He also played “Ace Face” in the Who’s “Quadrophenia” movie, but that came out before Dune.

I have not read The Long Arm, but I have read Lucifer’s Hammer, a long time ago.

For the record, fans have no problems with "women of color" in the assorted Bat franchises...

Eartha Kitt, so sexy she can make your teeth sweat...

Loved the album but never saw the movie.

I didn’t have much money for entertainment back then.

They need to take their costumes seriously and see who looks the part. Gal Gadot, the Wonder Woman was in the IDF so she was fit and her body was perfect for the part.

Well stated, and bears repeating. This project was so awful they that they are cutting their losses entirely. This is likely to be one of those movies that is so bad that it only exists as bootlegs made by studio employees.

One element of Eartha Kitt’s appeal was that voice. Hot damn!

Fatgirl? I'm not seeing it.

Nor am I. The costume is ugly and a smile would help a lot, but fat? Nope.

“Lucifer’s Hammer” was a really fun read. And really immersive... I was 17 when it was published, and read it in an air-conditioned booth between customers at an interstate gas station that summer. (I just pulled it off my shelf to check the date!)

Making Ariel black is going to kill off The Little Mermaid. It was a stupid woke move by Disney that will haunt it forever.

Right now, merchandise sales are still enormous for a movie over 20 years old. To change the color of the main character will confuse kids and make the merchandising less attractive.

Disney is nuts!

she would rather they make some woke POS for a miniscule group of woke fans who care about wokeness more than entertainent.

And then the wokesters wouldn't go see the movie anyway.

I wonder if this is marketing tactic, shelve a terrible movie to get ‘fans’ to clamor for it’s release. Pretty stupid to spend all that money and then sit on it, recoup something.
