Salmon Rushdie, age 75, was stabbed 10-15 times, once in the neck, during his introduction in Chautauqua, NY.

Rushdie was transported by helicopter to area hospital This Morning and is reportedly in surgery “THIS EVENING”. Unbelievable!

Wow! Many of the previous translators (Japanese, Italian, Norwegian) of Satanic Verses have been stabbed in the neck, so it isn’t a stretch to believe that someone finally made good on the 1988/1989 Iranian fatwa against him. But 34 years is an awfully long time to hold a grudge. Who’s empty enough inside to hold onto that kind of destructive energy and motivation? Rhetorical question.
