This Guglielmi really needs to get off his high horse, cram his attitude where the sun don't shine and show humility that recognizes that the preservation order occurred eleven days before the (claimed) destruction!

There was either a huge screw-up in that or a crime, with the default properly falling upon the latter.

If you or I deleted data after it had been requested by law enforcement, we'd be facing serious penalties. Same would happen with any company that did the same.

Yet, when it is people within government who do it, the response is 'oh well'.
