An ICU nurse has been charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter after a fiery 100mph crash left a pregnant mother, her unborn child, one-year-old son and four others dead.

Nicole L. Linton, 37, a nurse from Texas who works in Los Angeles, was charged Monday as she cried in court over the Thursday crash that killed six and left eight others injured. If convicted as charged, she could face up to 90 years in prison.

Police said Linton slammed her car into five other vehicles while driving as fast as 100 mph by an intersection at Windsor Hills.

LA County DA George Gascón revealed during a press conference Monday there was no evidence Linton was under the influence of alcohol during the time of the crash.

She was released from the hospital Sunday and is now held at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California on a $9 million bond.

Nah, we’re pretty much “lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way” unfortunately the influx of foreigners (people from other states and illegals) have brought their home grown or lack thereof driving skills with them. :)

I was working on a project in San Antonio a while ago. I stayed in a hotel near the highway. The entrance to the hotel was by a one-way street. After checking in, I asked the hotel clerk for directions to a restaurant. It was after dark, and he cautioned me "Be careful pulling out of our parking lot; make sure you watch carefully for oncoming traffic."

I thought that was curious given it went out to a 25mph one-way street. Another hotel guest came up to me. "He's not permitted to tell you why," he started, "but it's because of the illegals. They speed down the road with all their lights off. They figure they won't be seen by the police that way."

Sure enough, as I pulled out of the parking lot that evening, I spied a car speeding towards me, no headlights. I waited for him to pass and pulled out carefully, staying on well-lit streets.

While I think what you say is true, I also think God often sends angels to intervene (probably much more often than we may think).

Also sometimes the worst things that happen have silver-linings, you have to take the good with the bad in this world but...

“All things work together for good for those who love God and are fitting into his plans.” Romans 8:28

I’ve learned over the years that the only difference between many of those in prison and us on the outside is that those on the outside made a better choice in that moment of their lives.

Anger can be so self-destructive, not to mention harmful to others around you as this nurse learned.

I think of the few times my wife and I got into a real argument. Each of those times, I left the house to take a long walk or a long drive (though a peaceful drive - not tearing through neighborhoods like this nurse). When I came back, my head was cleared and I was ready to work things out in a civil manner.

My wife would criticize me for that behavior, like I was "running away" from a fight. Actually I was. And I likely prevented myself from doing or saying something I would regret for the rest of my life.

Same with potential road rage incidents. When I get a jerk tailgating me or otherwise driving in an offensive manner, I just pull over and let the person go around me. Just not worth it.

Amen.
It has been my experience that the more dependent upon God a person is, the more miracles that seem to happen in their life.

You did the right thing, giving yourself time to decide how to respond. You know yourself well.
I know by experience that some remarks can never be unsaid, whether one apologizes or not.

If anyone bothered to read the story, you would know she wasn’t drunk.

From the article: "One woman claimed that the driver was her friend, and that she had been drinking after fighting with her boyfriend prior to the deadly crash."

She was mad at her boyfriend.

Yep. I think she was trying to kill herself without a thought about those she takes with her.

Protected class. She’ll get maybe six months and some community service.
