Anne Heche is 'stable' after her Mini exploded when she smashed it into a house in Los Angeles, her ex-boyfriend Thomas Jane has told DailyMail.com.
The 53-year-old actress is 'expected to pull through' but remains intubated in hospital following the horror crash in Mar Vista on Friday morning, he said.
Jane, 53, also paid an emotional tribute to her, saying despite the fact they are no longer together he offers her his 'thoughts and prayers' and credited her 'one of the true talents of her generation'.
It comes after Heche pranged her Mini Clubman on a block of garages around 11am, before speeding off at up to 90mph and plowing straight through a house.
The actress, who also dated Ellen DeGeneres, was spotted on doorbell footage hammering down a residential street before she took out a hedge, slammed through building and her car exploded on impact.
She is understood to have battled scorching heat in the burning vehicle for up to 30 minutes before 59 firefighters arrived to drag her to safety.
Aerial footage also showed her bursting through the straps in a white bag before writhing in pain on a stretcher as she was bundled into an ambulance and rushed to a local ICU.
A picture taken before her first crash also showed Heche with what appeared to be a bottle of vodka in the cup holder of her Mini ahead of the horrific second smash.

She’s been a mess for quite some time
If it’s true that Anne was driving drunk and going 90 mph in a residential area. she already had a problem as a severe alcoholic.
TMZ has up close pictures of her before, during, and after the whole incident. I wonder if we’ll find out later that paparazzi were chasing her, and provoking the incident. It wouldn’t surprise me. They’re incredibly aggressive, and will shout all sorts of awful stuff at celebrities just to get them to look over, startled, so they can get a full face picture of them.
My take? Her career is not going well and she had to generate some publicity to re-ignite things. [/pun intended]

She will suffer such unimaginable agony from the burns. I’m surprised she lived. Her life is forever changed.

I suspect quite a bit of her money will go towards reconstructing the house she burned. I bet the value of property damage she caused seriously exceeded the limits of her automobile insurance policy.
She was only on the A-list so long as she was with Ellen DeGeneres.
Almost all I see posted is sympathy for her and her burns.
This time there are consequences she can’t buy or drug her way out of. Kind of late in life to be learning those kinds of lessons.

My s-i-l’s mother was killed by a drunk driver.
He got off with a slap on the wrist, a piddly little fine.
I’m thankful that she did not kill anyone with her wreck less behavior.
But she did destroy someone else’s home.

I was reading The article and all the comments in the whole time I was thinking Anne Hathaway. I was saying to myself please god no I hope this never happened that she dated Ellen DeGeneres!
I’ve always had a major big-time crush on Anne Hathaway.
I guess things are so bad in LA now the latest trend is to try to suicide yourself by getting drunk and seeing how fast you can go in traffic. That’s 2 in 2 days.

While I wish her well, why should I care about a C-grade lesbo actress who was driving drunk at 90 mph into a house? I care more about the people whose house she ruined and the hundreds of people she put at risk by her reckless actions.
She’s very lucky she didn’t harm or kill anyone else.
