A man armed with an AR-15 fled from a California liquor store screaming 'He shot my arm off!' after the 80-year-old owner blasted him with his shotgun.
Craig Cope opened fire after the 23-year-old armed intruder entered his shop in Norco early Sunday morning. As they suspects frantically ran away, Cope suffered a minor heart attack from the shock of the incident.
Four suspects armed with guns and wearing facial coverings had planned to rob the store, Riverside County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
But employees say Cope, who has owned the store since 1967, spied the suspects heading his way so grabbed his shotgun and fired at the first robber as he burst in. Security camera footage captured the dramatic encounter.
The man screamed out after being hit in the shoulder and frantically ran from the store.
'He shot my arm off! He shot my arm off!' the man can be heard shouting as he runs back to a black BMW SUV.
The suspects were located a short time later at a local hospital where one of the suspects, a 23-year-old male, was suffering from a gunshot wound consistent with a shotgun blast, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department release. He remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.
The three other suspects were taken into police custody booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for robbery and conspiracy. They are being held on a $500,000 bail.

Not so tough now, are ya, punk?
Good shoot. Hope I can do as well when I’m 80.
He can be the next drummer for Def Leppard.
He was armed going in. May have been unarmed or one armed leaving.
“The elderly innocent man had the right to defend himself. The robber lost his right to his arm and his life the moment he attacked the man.”
I think the robber lost his left arm. I watched the video over and over and as he runs to the stolen car he is flapping his left arm while holding the weapon in his right hand while screaming “he shot my arm!”.
Also in the video it appears that the guy shot him in the left side. Yes I slowed the video down. That was just so awesome I had to watch it over and over.
I don’t know if I should guy the guy a beer or a box of ammo
How long before the cops arrest the shopkeeper?
That right there is the money quote. Remember it always.
JUSTICE SERVED - another one of Satan’s Fr’kn animals dealt with! Hahahaha!

This was posted yesterday and Chode had a video up on it.
How is one handcuffed with on arm?
I doubt if he lost his arm. Probably ended any sports career. It will be interesting to see the follow-up.
Davon Broadus
Any relation to Snoop Dogg?
I figured it had been posted several times but I wanted people to pray for the 80 year old shopkeeper. that was not reported before.
He got “Rittenhoused”!
Well it’s not as if his lungs were blown out or anything.
I hope he’s alright. Before I left California, I lived about a mile from there. I used to shop in there fairly often.
Better the killer escaped after his mass shooting? The young man risked his life and freedom to protect people. But where is the gratitude?
“...Cope suffered a heart attack as a result of the traumatic series of events, but that he will make a full recovery and has already been saying he’d like to return to work. The 80-year-old has owned the convenience store since 1967.”
“Copeβs 79-year-old wife, Nancy, told The Post her husband had a heart attack following the shooting but is expected to fully recover.”

They got him right to a hospital and with todayβs doctors they probably saved the arm. I just hope the guy figures out a life of crime is not in his best interest.
