What happened during the dustbowl? Prices likely went up, but they fell again once the plains began producing grass again. It’s not ,ike the us hasn’t seen severe droughts before. In my lifetime, I have seen several severe ones that affected the Midwest and west coast. As well as the east coast a d even the south. We got through them and everything went back to normal.

Every few years we see the articles about how the “winter freeze is going to decimate the citrus industry, and drive prices skyward” UT they eventual,y get back to normal. (Although bidens assault on oil has driven prices higher again)

The “Dustbowl” lasted 10 years and was a significant contributor to the “Great Depression”. I’m not sure that is your best example or relevant to the current situation as drought is only one of the contributing factors to further price increases and the “fix” was entirely different.

More details of the Dustbowl here with lots of citations at the end if you want to dive deeper.

Of course, he Great Depression turned around as USA geared up for WWII though...maybe that is more relevant looking ahead to 2024 or so...

Back in the dust bowl days, nonproductive farms weren’t turned into housing tracts.

This is happening terribly as out of staters from California and Illinois ar driving the real estate market out of farmers ability to keep up with l property taxes.

Then they did and the children sell the farm.

This year isn't like years past.

The Bidens and all green one-worlders are doing all possible to decimate oil and oil-derived fuels and products of many types. To most specifically nitrogen fertilizer. Those hungry for tyrannical power and population control will do all possible things to starve the world.

Some rain in the Midwest won't fix these directed shortages. Nor will it soon replace the fertilizer and the breeding stock now being sold off.
