There have been reports of flooding at the Circa Sportsbook in Las Vegas.
I guess I will be the weather disaster poster for Friday.
Flooding hits the casinos, patrons look away from the slots for almost a minute.
News at 10.
How’s lake Mead doing
it would take a lot more than that to bring it back up
The water pouring in from the hole in the ceiling of the casino looks like a big water feature.
Complains about no rain and now complaining about you guessed it ,LOL
If itβs the same line of storms that blew through Sedona, AZ at about 2:00 pm yesterday, I get it - one of the more biblical monsoon deluges I have ever seen.
It seems Las Vegas is poorly drained. Whenever there’s a big storm, the streets are flooded, as happened when we made a visit in 1967. Western Ave. at Oakey Blvd. was so full of water that we called it the Western River.
How low’s the water mama? Three feet down and dropping. Thanks to Johnny Cash. Vegas really needs to hasten the wind and solar farms. Hoover ain’t gonna cut if before long.
Summertime. It’s hot. What gives?
There’s a little wash that runs across a corner of our property (west of Tucson). In the 2 1/2 years we’ve been here, it had flooded twice badly enough to wash out the fence, before this week. Monday night the fence washed out, so I fixed it Tuesday, then it washed out again Tuesday afternoon. About 1.5-2” of rain each time, at a guess.
Not a bad monsoon so far. No really major hail, which is good because we have to park in the open. Had a car totaled by hail once in NM.
Oh my... that’s such a beautiful sportsbook too. I HATE to see that.
AZ monsoon rains moved north?
ONE inch of rain did this?
1.5-2β of rain? Really. We had 57β inches of rain in Houston in 2017 (Harvey affect). Entirely flooded the 4th largest US city for weeks.
I didn’t say it was any sort of record, even for around here. Just a couple of decent summer thundershowers.
You mean with all the Global Warming the rain doesn’t turn to steam as soon as it hits the ground ?
Did the run off go into the lake?
Reminds me of a small town movie theater where friends and I watched Tron back in the day. There had been a flash flood a day earlier and the front three rows were covered in a few inches of water.
