In 2000, the two authors published Millennials Rising: The Next Great Generation. This work discussed the personality of the Millennial Generation, whose oldest members were described as the high school graduating class of the year 2000. In this 2000 book, Strauss and Howe asserted that Millennial teens and young adults were recasting the image of youth from "downbeat and alienated to upbeat and engaged". They credited increased parental attention and protection for these positive changes. They asserted Millennials are held to higher standards than adults apply to themselves and that they are a lot less vulgar and violent than the teen culture older people produce for them. They described them as less sexually charged and as ushering in a new sexual modesty, with an increasing belief that sex should be saved for marriage and a return to conservative family values. They predicted that over the following decade, Millennials would transform what it means to be young. According to the authors, Millennials could emerge as the next "Great Generation". The book was described as an optimistic, feel-good book for the parents of the Millennial Generation, predominantly the Baby Boomers.Does anyone know Millenials (born 1980-2000 approx.) like this? Are they hiding in our midst? College turned both my daughter and my son into liberals who hated Trump, voted for Joe Biden and dutifully took the vaxx (not sure if they went in for all the boosters). We don't talk politics anymore so I don't know if recent news has changed their minds any.
PR recently hired a 22 year old woman at the vet clinic. I am looking forward to some interesting conversations with her and her USCG husband. PR says the new girl is totally mind blown by our town and how friendly and nice the people are.
They are from New York. New to Alaska with the USCG cutter assigned here recently to replace the Anacapa. I’m taking them out for a range day next week. Should be interesting.

Same with our son
My nephews, niece, and to a greater extent, their spouses all ended up as liberals. If not for the kids, I’d disown them. I can’t understand how people that appear intelligent are so easily brainwashed by the higher education system and our crooked media.
This describes my kids, son 34, daughter 31. College didn’t corrupt them thankfully, but they attended somewhat conservative colleges with pockets of liberalism.
Among their friends, it’s a bit of a mix though many who voted Democrat have claimed they will never do so again.
The other doesn’t go to church as much but is what I call a ‘conservative free thinker’. The second one can use common sense to discern what isn’t being told in the news, look for the information to fill in the gaps. The second one argues rings around the friends who have just absorbed the liberal bologna. They can never come up with good answers for his questions. The 2nd one is out there reversing the liberal mind set in many friends and teaching them to look deeper for the WHOLE true beyond what they are being spoon feed.
I’m proud as hell of them both and I didn’t let the village raise them. We questioned and asked what they learned at school every night at dinner and corrected any of the left leaning Bovine Excrement they hoped our kids would just absorb minus our attention.
