And, where is that cash?
I’ve been saying this since O’Bungles.
The government will try to “grab” your savings (401K, IRA) by tying it to gummint issue bonds or notes (like the FRN).
They will legislate “no tax benefit” on investments other than the official national standard.
They will then slowly force you to convert your entire retirement savings to Fed bonds and notes.
They will liken it to “War Bonds” only...it won’t go away like War Bonds...and it won’t be voluntary (maybe at first)
They will sing patriotism all while they enact tyranny.
Remember, they legislated the benefit for us so they can take it away, too.
...and have some silver, small denomination (1/10 oz) gold coins and lots of .22LR ammo to use as currency until the system reboots. Depending on where you are, YMMV. Chances are, your bank account and credit cards will be useless for some time, if not permanently.
We been moving our assets so that we now have about 1/3 real estate (Not a house), 1/3 hard currency and 1/3 in the "Bank" invested or in cash.
I'm selling off some of the RE so that we can re-invest in our business here in Alaska.
