The Taiwanese Air Force, also known as the Republic of China Air Force, or ROCAF, has uncharacteristically released photos of weapons loading operations that were carried out in the highly-fortified underground cave-like complex connected to Chiashan Air Force Base. The photos offer a very rare look inside the subterranean tunnel network that houses some of the ROCAF’s most capable fighter jets, including the recently upgraded F-16V Viper that can be seen in the images being armed with Harpoon anti-ship missiles.
The ROCAF posted a photo set of the weapons loading exercise on Facebook this morning, writing that the practice is related to day two of the annual military Han Kuang Exercise. A rough machine translation of the post elucidates that the subjects in the photos, who are said to be part of the ROCAF’s 5th Tactical Composite Wing, were demonstrating their ability to both replenish an aircraft’s ammunition and ready it for takeoff in a particular timeframe. While the official ROCAF post doesn’t name the specific aircraft used during the exercise, an F-16 Viper is clearly the platform being armed.

Thunderbirds.
21 million people vs. 1.5 billion. They’ll do some damage but will we?
James Bond would take that entire place out with a couple of hand grenades
Ping
If we can easily see them here, the Chinese can also see them over there. Taking Taiwan down may not be quite as easy as China may expect it to be.
We are all witnessing the Great Bear of Russia humiliated every other day by a much smaller country.
Ukraine’s sustained resistance is largely due to billions of American dollars now liberally dumped on it.
Somehow, I don’t expect for Biden to push for the same level of generous support when Taiwan becomes under siege.
Most likely, the Taiwan already have low expectations from Biden, having seen the clumsy debacle in Afghanistan.
And the world waits with bated breath to see if WWIII can be avoided long enough to get DJT back in control.

The same “Remive Brfore Flight” flags thst we used.
MacGryver could do so with a paper clip, Bic lighter, masking tape and a Sharpie.
“Harpoon anti-ship missiles”
The Reds might wait for calm waters and use modest-sized boats instead of ships.
Nowadays, large targets are easy targets.
“Taking Taiwan down may not be quite as easy as China may expect it to be.”
The Reds would have tried under Biden if they thought it was going to be easy.
Taiwan is well-prepared to fight.
Lol
Not rare now
[The Reds would have tried under Biden if they thought it was going to be easy.

The big question is what happens in terms of resupplying Taiwan. Ultimately, I’d expect China to blockade the island. To break the blockade would likely require Uncle Sugar to step up, perhaps with the assistance of regional allies. Unless I’m very wrong, the Japanese are definitely gung ho. Ditto with the Australians, and perhaps* the Brits and the Canadians (thanks to ABCA Armies). The Koreans - we’ll see.
* The Brits and the Canadians did sit out the Vietnam War.
And some governments must be deciding whether to start it before that term, or after.
21 million people with a 110 mile wide moat surrounding them. If they want to defend themselves, they'll pull it off. But they have to buy the right equipment and have the will to fight.
They are short on naval mines, anti-ship missiles and surface to air and anti-missile missiles. All stuff they can acquire pretty quickly - and desperately need to. Rather than use self propelled mines, for example, they rely on mine layers to lay Mk 6 mines, an obsolete weapon developed by the US over 100 years ago - in 1917. That's not gonna work - I have a hunch the Chinese have the capacity to sink their mine layers.
Does anyone know if Taiwan has developed nuclear weapons over the years?
Horse hockey.
I predict they’ll roll over in 24 hours.
