In January 2020 Covid-19 was known to be a SARS virus.
The only other SARS virus ever seen was the 2002-2003 SARS outbreak. Mortality rate for that virus was 9%.
SARS has a cousin virus that erupted in 2015, MERS, that had a mortality rate of 32%
That was the only SARS related mortality data available. How exactly did Wayne Root or anyone else know “from day one” that this wasn’t a very dangerous virus?
Simple, they know everything - and that "everything" can be completely different from one moment to the next, depending on what the narrative calls for. It is the Left made over. Same MO. Reality, facts, etc. don't matter. Just the narrative they want to believe and want others to believe.
They knew because the so-called "authorities" never sent cleaners in decon suits to mass transit hubs - not one cleaner and not one transit hub.
If they virus was dangerous, you would have seen military personnel in chem suits cleaning the White House and the Capitol. Instead, politicians marched with rioters in violation of their own illegal diktats.
Trump seemed to know. He said it would all clear up in the Spring (of 2020).
However, he was foiled by a bureaucracy that was in the pocket of the pharmaceutical companies, that had the press on their side, and that was intent on taking control of the citizenry.
They mandated no early treatments under threat of losing license, they forced harmful late treatment protocols that pushed people with comorbidities over the edge, and they intentionally corralled the frail in amongst the infected.

By looking at the fatality rate and who was dying (elderly with co-morbidities). This was known very early on, before anyone in the US had reacted to it and months before the so called vaccines were available. I had numerous conversations with others that did the same. The general consensus was that the primary motivation was election year politics, not the virus.
I looked at it in the late Feb timeframe, well before circus started and decided it wasn’t that big a deal with even those inflated numbers. I made up my mind to just live my life and ignore it as best I could. Fortunately the county I live in typically had about 30% compliance with state mask mandates and it’s leadership fought the state all the way through.
So wearing a mask was something I only did at work and only during the brief periods when it were enforced and when they were looking.
All in all, in my little corner of the world a majority of the population never took it seriously.
