So, I want everyone reading the thread to be aware of this verbiage in the label for niacin (nicotinic acid) regarding liver function with high doses. Even if you don’t believe it, I am trying to err on the side of caution.

Because such a benevolent and caring institution as the FDA would never point the finger at the one natural component of their formulation as the culprit for possible bad side effects, rather than any of those wonderful, beneficial manmade drug additives, right?

(Do I really need a /sarc tag?)

But really, who can take the word of any of our health related so-called “authorities” for anything, especially after these past few years?

I’ll go with the natural - I consumed nearly a kilo of the plain unadulterated nicotinic acid from Sept. to Dec. last year with no ill effects. Numberonepal tells me that’s like chump change, but he’s bigger, and I’m just a 115 pounder (was 135 before I began - nice loss of bellyfat there without disturbing muscle mass, but I digress).

I lost weight initially. But the real deal was removing the inflammation. Once that was gone, I started to really work my body hard. It has paid off. I was a chubby 175 and now down to 160 and can see my Adonis belt for the first time in, well, a really long time. Still got that hard belly fat, but working on it. I’ve rediscovered an age olde circuit training program - rake, hoe, shovel, pick axe, hoe, rake and repeat. A little time behind a sledge hammer don’t hurt wither.
