The RDA for niacin is 16 mg. Dr. Dmitry Kats, the expert that I listen to, recommends at least 1 g (or 1000 mg), and 3-5 g if you have COVID, or are recovering from long-haul COVID or vaxx side-effects -- in which case you should be taking several other nutrients as well (especially creatine, betaine, and lipoic acid). I’ve CKD (pernicious anemia), diagnosed in 2008.
Dr “recommended” Vitamin B supplements since there is no pharma route for it.
I’ve never “flushed” but so far a flush is a starting point and not required for on-going maintenance of niacin levels.
I guess I’m wondering if (1) is my body using the niacinamide or is it just pissed way? and (2) should I supplement my supplements with nicotinic acid?
Then, how much since I am on a steady niacin intake.
Sounds like it couldn’t hurt but I don’t want to spend money on something that just gets pissed away because it is in excess.
My understanding is that any Vitamin B not used is just passed along.
