You do not need an M.D. to know which medicine can benefit you. My mother was only a high school grad in India, but she kept all her 5 children healthy by knowing which drugs were needed when someone got very sick. In those days, she did not need a doctor’s prescription to buy pharmaceuticals. No wonder doctors in India never got rich and they all escaped to United States and became rich.
There’s a ton more to being an M.D. than ‘knowing what medications to give’. Spend a night in an intensive care unit and you will see what I mean.
