hahahaha...hilarious but true. Thanks.
Yes, he could back it up. Maybe in basketball one needs that kind of trash talk. But Jerry West didnt do it. Not even Wilt Chamberlain did it. Nor did guys like Dave Debusshere (sic) Elvin Hayes, Jon Havlicek, etc.
Just a different era I guess with different values.
>>>At almost 11:00 pm south of San Antonio I’m still at 90 degrees. Yes It’s hot in Texas.>>>
93 here in the Dallas Metro at midnite. How in the heck is the grid going to handle this in a year or 2 when so many more people are here, companies, buildings, etc? Maybe Texas needs to look into Desalination plants along the gulf? I don’t know......this can’t be sustained I don’t think.
I was going to say, I’m pretty sure you aren’t in Texas.then I saw your handle. Watch out for the Polar bears up there. This is probably a great time of year up there........Beautiful too.
>>>Pump? Vent? You mean the air conditioning unit? Your AC air handler is probably located in the attic like in most Texas homes.>>>
Yes, it’s in the attic. The condenser is outside. I guess what I mean is the only air getting into the attic would be through the AC filter in the hallway of the house. The one you change ever month or so.
So the electric fans in the attic that are on the roof blow the hot air in the attic outside. Those have made a huge difference in cooling the attic. I mean at least 20 degrees. You simply couldn’t go in the attic before. Now at least you can...if you have to. I would recommend the electric motorized fans in the attic over the wirly birdy things. More expensive, yes, but probably much more effective and worth it.
Thanks. I’m sure it makes it cooler. Koolply or equivalent works wonders but that ship has sailed. Some say the net gain for the energy it takes for the fans vs. reduction in AC load is negative. I think most of those guys sell attic encapsulation or foil radiant barriers.
I’m going to build a test rig tomorrow and run it for a week and see what happens.
Thanks again.
The strain on the grid from increased a/c usage in the afternoon and evening hours of highest temperatures has caused some of my cable TV channels to pixelate/freeze.
I have had to reboot my cable multiple times during those hours. ...Seems the strain on the grid reduces the satellite power for capturing signals and outputting them to the cable network. After temps cool down late at night, the signals are back to normal.
btw, I’m in Grapevine watching my grass burn every day.
About 1952, Dallas. (I was 9-10)
1980 DFW Metro.
Farmers Almanac probably has the records.
>>>btw, I’m in Grapevine watching my grass burn every day.>>>
So sad to see the usually beautiful green grass already turning brown from being scorched. We are noticing it everywhere. Looking more and more like southern california without the trash and homeless. Yes....sad
>>>Maybe the French story we see year after year is bullshit and theres an agenda but there I go with my tinfoil hat again.>>>
Yes, for sure. Today there is always an agenda. A left wing agenda where lying is ok when you are morally superior. Agree.....
you got it correct, that is how la nina/el nino work, i am past ready for her to leave, Cal needs rain very badly.
We had 71 days at 100 or above in 2011. In 1980 we had 42 days in a row at 100 degrees or above. I really don’t remember thinking much of it at the time. I guess getting older I just notice the heat more. It was 108 here yesterday, though, and I was surprised that it seemed a comfortable level when it cooled to 102.
