I just put netting over my plants...that I could easily lift off to harvest a few tomatoes.
Chipmunks dig / burrow right under netting / fencing.
And sometimes they are too STUPID to get back OUT of the mesh net.
Very short memory - except when it comes to where the tomatoes are.
Happened to me once - a totally panicked chipmunk bouncing around
the inside of the mesh trying to find it's way back OUT.
What an annoyance.
They are NOT the most intelligent of creatures - nope.
