It's just a thought. No article on the subject(surprising). The public schools are a failure. The boarding schools would be success on day one when you consider abortion was the alternative.
*Run by unaccountable non-relatives in a postmodern era.*
*Work Farms*
Here I am offering an alternative and this is what we get.
Better answer: Make women pay for their own abortions.
Ensure sperm donors pay child support.
Both will encourage people to keep it zipped and/or practice safer sex.
“Are there no prisons?” asked Scrooge.
“Plenty of prisons,” said the gentleman, laying down the pen again.
“And the Union workhouses?” demanded Scrooge. “Are they still in operation?”
“They are. Still,” returned the gentleman, “I wish I could say they were not.”
“The Treadmill and the Poor Law are in full vigour, then?” said Scrooge.
“Both very busy, sir.”
“Oh! I was afraid, from what you said at first, that something had occurred to stop them in their useful course,” said Scrooge. “I’m very glad to hear it.”
Your story reminds me of how Angela Lansbury moved to Ireland for years while her children grew up. She did not want them in Hollywood, New York, or London I suppose. IIRC!
Are you trying to say it DOESN’T take a village? Hillary would disagree.
Hmmmmm.... I’m already settled in my career but some enterprising educator could open boarding schools abroad to do just this. There is a nice group in Honduras called “Helping Honduras Kids” that have a school and orphanage in the jungle that take in a raise / school children. Run by Christians. They could enroll a set number of paying students that subsidize the place.
I raised my children in Japan. The oldest was 3 when we went over there, the youngest (born there) had just graduated from elementary school when we got back. She tested two grades ahead in math, so they skipped 7th grade and put her in ESL during math time. She is now an executive with a big pharmaceutical company there.
My grandson wants to go to Japan, and says he wants to live there when he grows up.
Good luck with that plan. It is a way cool country, but they pick their immigrants very carefully. I have both a brother and a daughter who have achieved permanent residency without marrying a Japanese. But it is the quickest way.
His mom and I are pretty convinced he’s going to marry an Asian girl, but right now he swears he’s never getting married. He’s only 10, so we figure that will change!
Yeah, girls are kind of icky until about age 13 or 14.
Things won’t change that much. If you’re getting an abortion in Texas, now you’ll just get it in New Mexico. In Florida you can have an abortion up to 15 weeks (or 30 weeks?).
