Dumping the whole season of episodes was a drawing card for early streaming services. You got the entire season without having to wait a week for the next episode. That was a big separator between streaming and network TV.

More recently, due to many signing on, binging, and then cancelling, the streamers have begun dropping new episodes on a weekly basis. [I hate that, so I usually do not watch until the entire season is available.]

Another nice thing about streaming in general is that it sometimes permits the viewer to fast forward through the overly slow parts of a video stream.
