I remember early in the pandemic when the "experts" thought that smoking would be a risk factor for having a poor outcome if a person got Covid. It turned out not to be the case.
As an aside, obesity IS a strong risk factor but was almost never mentioned after Dr. Birx listed it very early during the daily White House Task Force briefings. So, instead of people doing what they could to improve their overall health by eating better and going outside to exercise, our "experts" told people to stay inside and order food delivered. I do not trust the "experts."
