Local farmers had been complaining about the crossing for years.
I suspect that the growing corn obscured the view coming up to the crossing. TV Pictures of the Truck post crash show that it was pretty much disassmbled by the impact. There are plenty of obvious reasons before people start to look at the D/S. (Very Rural Missouri=The town name for the Trump Rally is a very strange coincidence.)
There is a slide show at the link above, pictures are copyrighted so did not post here.
Mendon, Missouri - Wikipedia "Mendon, Missouri Mendon is a city in western Chariton County, Missouri, United States. The population was 163 at the 2020 census....snip"
The nearest FBI office is here in KC.MO.
There will be more info including the name of the driver, who I suspect probably died in the crash.
Jovan Pulitzer is finally presenting the results of his paper analysis. Live now.
I tried to do “street view” at the crossing, but that road is to insignificant to have street view. Gravel road, no gates, just a stop sign. Very, very common out in the rural areas of the country. I’m not sure how far back from the tracks the corn is, but I know if you have a loaded truck and a hill, once you commit, you’re focused on accelerating and getting moving.
I’m re-enacting the incident in my head, but that is a far cry from the actual situation, I’m sure.
