So many fans! I’m so impressed. We think of Gordon Lightfoot as our own folk song hero but he clearly has a wider appeal than I knew. Haunting song.

I saw him live in my home town when he was on the college circuit. Circa 1973.
Saw Chicago in 1974.

“Colour My World” was recorded for the Chicago 4 Album (4 vinyls in one box) at the concert.

It was always my goal to write one song worthy of Lightfoot. Nothing yet. Better hurry, I'm 73.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald really hit home for me as a kid - I grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and if I recall, the Edmund Fitzgerald was loaded with iron ore destined for Cleveland, for our steel industry, when she went down.

That song was the perfect documentation for the horrid event.

In Michigan, there is a memorial for the ship and her crew.
