One person died after an estimated 11-foot alligator pulled them into a retention pond Friday at the Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club near Burgess, officials said.
Horry County Police spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov confirmed that HCPD's Environmental Services and Criminal Investigations divisions are investigating the death.
Moskov said Horry County Fire Rescue responded around 11:45 a.m. to the area of Excalaber Court, and "upon arrival, units determined that an alligator had taken hold of a neighbor and retreated into a nearby retention pond."
The victim was recovered from the pond, Moskov said. She added that a South Carolina Department of Natural Resources biologist and SCDNR-contracted alligator removal service determined that the 11-foot alligator should be euthanized.

Voters in Europe realize drop boxes encourage fraud.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Which is, of course, precisely why the ‘rats demand drop boxes!
If only we would do the same.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We can do the same, but first we have to lock up every Democrat involved in the stolen 2020 election, starting with that idiot from Delaware!
Alligators perform a valuable community service, removing idiots and stray dogs. If it wasnt for them, there would be three times as many drunk or meth-head Florida people driving around hurting people.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
They certainly do perform a valuable community service, and it’s a damn shame they get vilified for doing it!
That’s not something you see every day. Where’s the print recipe icon?
She was a well-known liberal activist. People still blamed her. They’re nuts.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That’s certainly true, most liberal activists are nuts! Served her right!
How is it you have what are in essence giant dinosaurs roaming around Florida, parodically just killing and eating people, kids, pets, and other innocent animals, and everybody acts like you can’t just kill them wherever you see them?
A kid was literally eaten by an alligator at Walt Disney World, which apparently is infested with gators, and the theme park didn’t immediately kill all the Gators swimming in its waters. They are still swimming around there, waiting for another kid to get too close to the water so they can chomp down on him. And how do they even deal with the parents, after their kid is killed, and they do nothing to prevent the next kid from getting eaten?
It is not even like they have personalities, or intelligence.
Why do nice places always have to have 1 creature that can kill you.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That will always be the case as long as people are permitted access to nice places!
I think you missed some facts. One Minor, One major.
Alligators are reptiles, not Dinosaurs....Dinosaurs became birds.
Disney removed all of the gators from the property after this happened. They do what they can to keep them out of the lakes, but, as gators are the rats of the swamp, they continue to come back. They do what can be done to keep all wildlife away from the guests.
The lake the child was in was marked as a “do not swim” area. Big signs all around. Parents ignored the signs and the child. Any blame goes on the gator and the parents, not Disney.
The only thing in nature that has EVER been capable of breaking the law is the species we refer to as human!
There are manatees all over South Carolina and Georgia in the Summer. A portion of the population is migratory. Others swim around our boat and eat the algae off the boat here in Florida.
Gators have few natural predictors, They find a pond or swam and grow as big as the food supply will let them
A few years ago, we were cruising up the ICW near McClellanville, on the way through Myrtle Beach and went by a boat ramp. There was a good size gator resting in the middle of the boat ramp and no one was putting boats in.
It is not even like they have personalities, or intelligence.

That woman was pushing for a city ordinance where all gun owners within the city limits would be required to store them in a building under the control of the city. If someone wanted to go to the shooting range, they would need to take their guns out and return them. No guns to be kept in homes or private property.
I wish I could find that bear and treat him to a feast.
link is bad
BTW the “H” in the name Horry County is silent which is why I leave it in. I always pronounce it Whorey County.
Bad Alligator Bad!
They built different out in Florida man. Hitting a Gator with a cast iron skillet is nuts

that bites...
He did, that is why he is dead in the pond. Beating the gator with a skillet really pissed him off.
Because, their meat is tasty and they make good handbags and belts.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Heh. When you think about it, there are so-called humans still on the planet today who believe exactly that same thing about another species of creatures, one of whom you can see whenever you look in the mirror!
